The Green Rooms grew from a simple idea: to create a beautiful place to stay that's as warm, thoughtful and inspiring as Margate itself. Somewhere stylish but relaxed. Thoughtfully designed but never intimidating. A place that feels genuinely connected to Margate rather than simply located here.
Every decision, from the materials we've chosen to the local makers we're working with, has been guided by one simple idea: create somewhere beautiful that gives something back.
Whether you're escaping London for the weekend, catching up with friends or discovering Margate for the first time, we hope you'll feel completely at home.

A great day in Margate deserves a great night's sleep. Our individually designed rooms combine comfort, character and thoughtful details, with quality beds, beautiful fabrics, locally made toiletries and carefully chosen artwork inspired by the creativity of our surroundings. It's everything you need after sea swims, gallery visits, long lunches and evenings spent exploring Margate's independent food and music scene.
BREAKFAST.
We'll open with room-only stays in early 2027. From Spring 2027 we'll be serving breakfasts that celebrate some of Kent's finest producers, with seasonal ingredients, generous portions and plenty of surprises. Good things take time. We promise it'll be worth the wait.
BEAUTIFUL.
The Green Rooms has been designed to tread lightly on the planet while making a positive contribution to the local community. We're working with local suppliers wherever we can, making thoughtful environmental choices throughout the building, and creating a welcoming space that brings people together. When you're here, you're not just booking a room. You're becoming part of a story that's rooted in Margate.
COMMUNITY SPACE
We're also creating flexible community spaces that will host workshops, supper clubs and local events because we believe hotels should be part of the neighbourhood, not just somewhere to sleep. If you’re interested in a welcoming lounge, dining or kitchen spot, we’d love to hear from you.
